MASON CITY, Iowa – A 22-year-old woman was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa Saturday night after an accident involving four vehicles.
Mason City Police received the call around 7:30 p.m.
Sgt. Tiffany Creekmur with the Mason City Police Department said three cars heading eastbound on 4th Street SW were stopped at a red light near Advance Auto Parts. A fourth car, driven by the 22-year-old woman, didn't stop and hit one of the cars "creating a domino effect."
Officers gave the driver a field sobriety test before she was transported. The investigation is ongoing as they wait for the results.
Sgt. Creekmur said the woman's injuries are non-life threatening.
Mason City Police, Mason City Fire and Rescue, and the Iowa State Patrol were on scene.
