MASON CITY, Iowa - Small businesses all across the United States are preparing for their own shopping holiday, Small Business Saturday.

Katie Wold is the owner of Market 124 in Mason City.

The business has been selling art and home decor for the last 6 years.

She says while she feels that small businesses should be recognized more than just once a year it is important that more people learn about local businesses and support them to help out their communities
"I think having an awareness that if you don't support your local businesses they do go away and your downtowns go away and if you don't support it it's not going to stick around."

Market 124 will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday November 25th.
