The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern Hancock County in north central Iowa... Winnebago County in north central Iowa...

* Until 1230 AM CDT Monday.

* At 627 PM CDT, emergency management reported Highway 69 and Highway 9 in Forest City under 2 to 3 feet. Heavy rainfall is causing flash flooding or will cause flash flooding soon.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Forest City, Lake Mills, Thompson, Leland, Crystal Lake, Rake, Scarville, Miller, Hayfield, Pilot Knob State Park and Forest City Municipal Airport.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Wright County in north central Iowa... Southwestern Hancock County in north central Iowa...

* Until 345 AM CDT.

* At 946 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen on saturated ground. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Britt, Kanawha, Goldfield, Corwith and Hutchins. Additional rainfall amounts of an inch or two are possible in the warned area.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or From Buffalo Creek near Burt...to Lotts Creek near Livermore.

* Until Sunday afternoon.

* At 9:15 PM Sunday the stage was 18.4 feet, or 1.4 feet above Flood Stage.

* Flood Stage is 17.0 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.

* Forecast...rise to 18.9 feet, or 1.9 feet above Flood Stage, Wednesday afternoon. Then begin falling and go below Flood Stage Sunday afternoon.

* Impact...At 18.0 feet, US 169 is threatened near Saint Joseph and may be overtopped south of Algona. &&

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southern Kossuth County in north central Iowa...

* Until 245 AM CDT Monday.

* At 843 PM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Several roads in Kossuth County...especially near Algona have water over them and will likely be shut down. In addition...Highway 18 near Algona will also be shut down. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen with an additional half inch to one inch possible. Flash flooding is occurring.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Algona, West Bend, Whittemore, Wesley, Corwith, Lu Verne, St. Joseph, St. Benedict, Irvington, Sexton, Stinson Prairie State Park, Algona Municipal Airport and Aa Call State Park.
