NIACC Press Release:
MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore pitcher Tim Black has verbally committed to play baseball next season at Central Michigan University.
Central Michigan is a NCAA Division I school located in Mount Pleasant, Mich. and is a member of the Mid-American Conference.
The Chippewas were 25-32 overall and 12-15 in the MAC in 2013. Former Newman Catholic standouts Jordan Adams (senior) and Blake Louscher (redshirt freshman) played for the Chippewas in 2013.

Black allowed two hits and one walk in his nine innings of work and took a perfect game into the eighth inning against the Wolfpack.
Black was selected to the NJCAA Division II World Series all-tournament team as the Trojans placed fifth in their first-ever appearance.
"Tim had a phenomenal two years with us," NIACC coach Travis Hergert said. "He was one of the main reasons for our postseason success.
"The three starts during the run was the most dominant I have ever seen."
