Iowa City, IA (Sports Network) - Malcolm Delaney scored 18 points to lead the Virginia Tech Hokies to a 70-64 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Terrell Bell added 13 points for Virginia Tech (5-1), which got 10 points apiece from Jeff Allen and Victor Davila.

Anthony Tucker poured in 24 points in the loss for Iowa (2-5), while teammate Jarryd Cole contributed 10 points.

Virginia Tech led 34-28 at intermission after shooting a respectable 48.3 percent from the floor in the first half.

Over the final 20 minutes, the Hokies were able to hold their ground despite permitting six three-pointers to Iowa.

A 34-27 rebounding advantage and a 12-8 edge in points from the foul line were keys to victory for Virginia Tech in the narrow triumph.
