CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - When Illinois takes the field Saturday for its game against Minnesota, the Illini will be looking at an awfully familiar opponent. The Golden Gophers are a lot like last year's Illinois team. They're off to a fast start after a dismal 1-and-11 season. And Gopher head coach Tim Brewster is a lot like Illinois' Ron Zook. He has his team believing it can win. The proof is in Minnesota's record: 5-and-1 overall and 1-and-1 in the Big Ten. Brewster played football at Illinois in the early 1980s, and he acknowledges the similarities. He says Zook has recruited well and is winning because of it. The Illini are off to a 3-and-2 start. And, with last week's win over Michigan, they're 1-and-1 in the Big Ten.
