Mason City Cyclone Carper Honored by Big 12

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State sophomore Clayton Carper has been named the Big 12 Conference men’s cross country runner of the week after winning the Bulldog Classic Friday in Des Moines. Carper led the pack at the meet, which hosted by Drake at Ewing Park. He clocked a time of 12:13 in the 4,000-meter race as the Cyclones swept the top four places. The Mason City native finished 16 seconds ahead of teammate Ben Murphy-Baum.
