Twins Make September Call-Ups by A.J. Ellingson
AP
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins hope some September callups will help their struggling bullpen.
They plan to add relievers Bobby Korecky, Phillip Humber and Jose Mijares and four other
reinforcements from the minors for the stretch run.
Humber was acquired from the Mets in the Johan Santana trade and was a starter in Triple-A, but he'll be a reliever for now. Korecky
was with the Twins for a month this season. The left-handed Mijares is with Double-A New Britain.
Also coming up Monday when rosters can be expanded to 40 are infielders Matt Macri and Matt Tolbert, catcher Ryan Jorgensen and
outfielder Jason Pridie. Macri and Tolbert have already been with the team. Tolbert took over as the starting shortstop until
injuring his thumb in May.
