CANTON, Ohio (AP) - An Iowa high school football coach with a message beyond winning is headlining a coaching clinic in Canton.
Coach Ed Thomas of Aplington-Parkersburg High School spoke Wednesday at the NFL Youth Summit about the May 25 tornado that destroyed his home and school and killed six people.
Thomas says the community "found out in a hurry what's important in life" when the tornado hit.
The summit brings together 51 high school coaches from across the nation to discuss nutrition, motivation and strategy. The summit ends Friday and is part of the run-up to the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions.
