MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Joe Mauer slapped a two-run single up the middle in the seventh to help rally Minnesota past the Detroit Tigers 7-6. The Twins bounced back from a six-run, first-inning deficit to post their fifth straight win. Detroit third baseman Carlos Guillen let a routine groundball hit by Nick Punto roll off his glove and through his legs, setting up Minnesota's four-run surge and ruining a strong start by Kenny Rogers. Matt Guerrier earned his second victory in three decisions this year with two scoreless innings in relief of Boof Bonser, who recovered from the six-run first to complete six innings with five strikeouts and no walks. Joe Nathan picked up his 11th straight save with a scoreless ninth.
