IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Iowa's only all-Big Ten Conference basketball selection from last season is leaving the team. Tony Freeman says coach Todd Lickliter didn't treat him with respect during a post-season meeting. Freeman, a junior, says Lickliter asked him if he ever thought about transferring and insinuated that he wasn't compatible with the system the coach is trying to run. Freeman says the final undoing was when Jarryd Cole and Cyrus Tate were named as co-captains for next season. Freeman says he loves those guys, but he was the one who make made third-team all-Big Ten last year. In a statement from university, Lickliter, a first-year coach, says he wishes Freeman nothing but success in the future. Freeman, an off-guard who played point out of necessity, was with the Hawkeyes for three seasons. He can transfer to a lower-division school and gain immediate eligibility. Or, he can sign on with a Division One school, but must sit out a season before he's eligible to play.
