Eden Prairie, MN - Police arrested Minnesota Vikings free agent defensive end Darrion Scott or assault in a Twin Cities suburb on Wednesday.
Around 3:30 p.m.
Eden Prairie police got a warrant and searched Scott’s home on Lilac Drive looking for evidence to suggest an assault.
Officers took Scott to the Eden Prairie Police Department for questioning. Police then arrested Scott and moved him to the Hennepin County Jail for booking.
Police say the alleged assault was physical in nature, but didn't give us any further details. Right now, no charges have been filed.
Last December, Scott was cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession and failure to signal as he pulled over in Charleston,
West Virgina.
In 2007, Officers with
Charleston ’s Metro Drug Unit were staking out suspected drug activity when they saw Scott stop and talk to another man at a public housing complex.
After leaving, Scott was pulled over after he allegedly switched lanes without signaling. Officers recall smelling the odor of marijuana when they pulled Scott over. Scott refused to let officers search the vehicle.
Police brought in a drug dog, which indicated there was an illegal substance in the vehicle. Police now had suspicion of drug possession and searched vehicle, finding 7.1 grams of marijuana.
Scott was cited and released at the scene.
Darrion Scott played four seasons with the Vikings, appearing in only four games in 2007 due to injury. He has visited the Washington Redskins and New England Patriots this spring.
