KIMT News 3 - Friends and family are still in shock after an Austin native was killed by police in Minnetonka earlier this week.
27-year-old Michael Tray of Austin, was shot and killed by police in an underground garage of a Minnetonka apartment complex on Wednesday night.
Police were called to the apartment after a resident claimed a man who didn't live there had a revolver.
Folks we talked to today say they want to know about what happened, because it doesn't sound like the Mike they knew.
They remember him as a caring person who wanted to make people laugh.
"I always found Mike to be a generous person,” Austin High School Basketball Coach Kris Fadness said. “Found him to be very compassionate. Had that ability to make people laugh and that's what I’ll remember most about him.”
Fadness coached Mike in basketball and football.
He adds Mike would come to basketball games when he was around and stop in and talk with him.
Coach says he hopes they find out what happened on Wednesday night.
