MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — About 200 demonstrators opposed to U.S. military action against Syria protested outside U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar's Minneapolis office.
Margo Casey, of St. Paul, was among demonstrators picketing Tuesday afternoon. Casey says bombing Syria would be ethically wrong. She says enough people have died and taking action against Bashar Assad could unleash disaster in the Middle East.
Minnesota Public Radio News (http://bit.ly/17rQdmd ) says Klobuchar was in Duluth Tuesday, but her staff met with demonstrators. In a statement, Klobuchar said she welcomes Minnesotans' views on Syria. Klobuchar says the current draft of the resolution on Syria is too broad.
Democratic Reps. Rick Nolan and Collin Peterson, and Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann have all said they're opposed to military action in Syria. U.S. Sen. Al Franken is the Obama administration's strongest supporter in the Minnesota delegation.
