MASON CITY, Iowa - A local man is being honored for his efforts to support our troops.
Ron Minart is the owner of the Mason City Harley Davidson store.
He's being awarded by the "Iowa Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve" for supporting his employees that have served in the military.
Ron's son accepted the award on his behalf this afternoon.
One of Ron's employees, Rick Heald, whose severed two deployments in Iraq says his boss is very deserving of this recognition.
“It’s just very important being the employee when you're coming back home. You got a lot on your plate and your guaranteed to have a job when you're coming back home,” said Heald.
Heald has worked at Mason City’s Harley Davidson since June of 2002.
