KIMT NEWS 3 --Changes will be coming to some voting precincts in Minnesota.
A pilot project will be underway this fall that replaces reams of voter sign-in sheets at polling places with electronic rosters.
It will contain the same information as the regular paper versions.
But, it could provide ways to speed things up on Election Day.
"It would speed up the process at the precinct for new voters that are registering," Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer Pat Martinson said. "It would also be able to verify that the voter is in the correct place."
The e-roster project will be tested in Dilworth, Minnetonka, Moorhead, Saint Anthony and St.Paul.
A report on effectiveness and costs is due in January.
