ROCHESTER, MN -- Some Minnesota hospitals are getting a new look at what patients thought of their visit.
A new statewide survey was released Wednesday that helps those seeking health care in Minnesota find the best place to go from others who have already been there.
The Minnesota HealthScores survey is a collaboration between the Minnesota Department of Health and MN Community Measurement.
Those in our area say it is another piece of information to learn from.
"We focus on the care of the patient because that's a primary driver of the patient experience, but we want to make sure the rest of it is great as well so that they have a great experience when they come to any Mayo facility," said Dr. Paula Santrach, Chief Quality Officer for Mayo.
She said she sees this as a key part of the future of health care and sees many other organizations soon taking part.
"I think this survey will be used by other organizations, most particularly the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in the past, so this gives us a chance to look at that and understand the various aspects of it prior to it going on a wider basis," Santrach said.
The survey can be found on the HealthScores website.
