AUSTIN, MN -- If all goes well, four southern Minnesota counties could be joining forces in at least one department.
Commissioners from Mower, Steele, Dodge and Waseca counties met this morning to discuss Human Services.
The planned re-design would merge those departments into one the counties share.
But, there are still a lot of questions about how the redesign would work.
Today's meeting is being held to address those.
"To expose all four boards to that data and funding models and governing models," Mower County Coordinator Craig Oscarson said. "And then for the commissioners to start asking questions back to us as to what else do you need to know before you can take a vote to go to the next phase."
He adds that vote to move onto the next phase should happen in the next couple of months.
