AUSTIN, MN -- A plan that could see Mower County merge human services with three other counties is getting ready for a vote.
The Mower County Board of Commissioners is set to vote on a proposed human services redesign plan tomorrow.
The proposed plan would share human services between Dodge, Steele, Waseca and Mower counties.
If approved, the next phase would include developing the plan and finalizing all the numbers.
However, it's the one million dollar price tag that has county leaders concerned.
"You know 18,000 here and 40,000 there, which is significant dollars," County Coordinator Craig Oscarson said. "Compared to what we are facing now, it's pretty small. So now, it's a big question that does the county want to spend potentially this much money."
Dodge and Steele counties have voted to move ahead with the measure.
Waseca County has yet to vote, but is expected to in the coming weeks.
