ALBERT LEA, MN -- After months of details and feedback, workers are getting busy in downtown Albert Lea.
The Broadway Reconstruction and Streetscape project is now underway downtown, which will result in some road closures during the project.
Fountain Street, from Broadway to Washington Avenue will be closed.
Parts of Broadway Avenue, from Water Street to Fountain will also be closed.
City officials say this is something folks will be seeing all summer long.
"There is going to be detours throughout the summer," City Engineer Steve Jahnke said. "The current one in place will probably be in place until closer to the Fourth of July. Then, it will shift to the next two blocks."
