MASON CITY, Iowa - A local rescue team is receiving a big donation for all their hard work.
It’s an exciting day for the North Iowa Community Emergency Response Team or cert.
They received a 5,000 dollar grant from the TransCanada pipeline in Garner.
CERT is a group of volunteers who dedicate their time in emergency situations.
Carl Hutchinson, President of the team says it’s great for the community who gives so much support.
“I just like being around people and helping people and getting a donation no matter what size it is, it’s great for the group,” said Hutchinson.
They plan on using the money for supplies and training.
Representatives from TransCanada pipeline says it’s an honor to show this type of support for local response teams.
