AUSTIN, MN -- When it comes to the economy, things seem to be booming in the city of Austin.
Several new businesses, including Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop, are starting to call Austin home.
Not only is it just businesses, current employers are also expanding, such as the Hormel Institute.
While the city does boast some of the lowest taxes in the state, city leaders say other key items have been attracting businesses to the community.
"It's not quite as important," City Administrator Jim Hurm said. "What's important is to have a growing community, an attractive community, someplace someone wants to build."
He adds several agencies and foundations have played a key role in bringing businesses to Austin.
And with the Vision 2020 initiative underway, he says things will only be getting better throughout the community.
