Phase 4 of Sewer Inspections by David Pint
KIMT News 3

Mason City, IA - Mason City is one step closer to completing inspections on area sewers. The city's Operations and Maintenance Department is in phase four with sewer inspections.

Workers will look at the condition of sanitary and storm sewers in the Southwest side of Mason City. They will also perform random sub-pump checks in area homes to see who is pumping water where it shouldn't go.

"The overall goal is to tighten up the collection and eliminate water that doesn't need to run through the waste water treatment plant," says Operations and Maintenance Manager William Stangler.

Stangler says after all inspections are complete it could take about ten years to repair.
