ALBERT LEA, MN - Charges are filed against some former nursing assistants after a co-worker claims they abused and assaulted seniors at a local nursing home. We're learning more information about charges filed against former two nursing assistants in Albert Lea.

The two teenagers are  accused of abusing and assaulting patients at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home of Albert Lea. It supposedly happened earlier this year. A former co-worker accused the two after she was fired for swearing in front of a person who lives at the home.

19-year-old Brianna Broitzman and 18-year-old Ashton Larson, both of Albert Lea, are charged with abusing patients at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home from January to May this year. And some of the allegations in these complaints, are disturbing.

In the complaint, Broitzman told investigators she and Larson would poke patients at this facility in the genital area. The complaint also claims Broitzman spit in patient's mouths. Larson admitted to putting her hand over a patient's mouth to stop a resident from screaming. It also says the girls took numerous videos and pictures of some of this abuse and they would talk about it with others during school. Together they are facing more than 20 charges including assault, criminal sexual abuse and disorderly conduct. With those allegations, the two could spend at least 90 days in jail and/or at least a one-thousand dollar fine. The Freeborn County Attorney's Office is not releasing the complaints or identities of the four juveniles involved. We called Brianna Broitzman's home this evening and someone hung up the phone on our call. We also left messages for Ashton Larson. No one has called us back.
