MINNEAPOLIS, MN - University of Minnesota police are
investigating after swastikas were found drawn in marker on two
students' dormitory doors.
University police were called after a staff member on patrol
made the discovery in Pioneer Hall on Monday night.
Police took pictures of the swastikas and interviewed the
students.
Investigators believe the Nazi symbols were made Halloween night
and that students may have tried to clean it but the incident
wasn't reported to officials.
Campus Police Deputy Chief Charles Miner says there's no
indication the students were targeted.
Students say the school sent them an e-mail, warning about hate
crimes.
The case is currently classified as criminal property damage,
but charges will increase if authorities discover the students were
targeted because of race or religion.
