Eagle Grove, IA- Bob and Carol Eilerts were cleaning up their Eagle Grove home from minor flooding a month ago,
when they got a call from a fellow boy scouts mom.

"She had heard that the camp had been hit by a tornado," said Carol Eilerts, Aaron's mother.

Quickly the Eilerts, got on the road to make the a four hour drive to the boy scout camp in Little Sioux.  When they arrived, scouts were being bused out of the campsite. A list of names was read of those who weren't injured.

"Not a single kid on them buses was named Aaron," said Bob Eilerts, Aaron's father.

The Eilerts learned their son, Aaron, was one of the four boys killed by the tornado.

They say Aaron was passionate about scouting and they don't regret letting him go to camp.

"We couldn't of kept him away from that," said Bob.

The Eilerts say Aaron lived by the boy scout oath, o do his best and to help others. They say he was always doing a project to help someone in need. His most notable project was "Pillowcases for Patients".

"That's what he spent his money on, the pillow cases," said Carol.

Now, Aaron's parents are doing what they say Aaron did best. They're selling t-shirts to help raise money to help rebuild the camp.

"It was so important to those four boys to go to this camp," said Carol.

The shirts are brightly colored, they way Aaron dressed most days and on the back is a reading from his memorial service.

"About a child who says I want to give more," said Carol.

Aaron's parents say that's the way he lived his life. They say Aaron did the right thing because he chose to, not because of what other people thought. The Eilerts hope Aaron's memory lives on.

While they mourn his death, they pray for strength.

"Hopefully the tears will stop and the laughter will start," said Carol.
