Fireworks Could be Dim in U.S. by Cole Mathisen
KIMT News 3
Mitchell, IA- It could be a dim year for fire works display's across the country.

The closing of several ports in China for fireworks shipments is creating shortages.

Fireworks stands across the u-s could lose between 25 and 30 million dollars because of lost orders.  We talked to a local fireworks wholesaler who puts on displays in Mason City and Clear Lake.

He says this Fourth of July should be fine, but he's still waiting on most of his supply for the rest of the year.

"We have seven containers that aren’t going to get here ‘til October that should have been here two months ago," said Flashing Thunder Fireworks owner Jerome Mostek.

Mostek says he's been able to trade fireworks with other people in the business to fill out his displays.
