A Clear Lake Bar Gets Fined for Wet T-Shirt Contest by Briana Denney
KIMT News 3

Clear Lake, IA- Clear Lake Marina Bar owner, Allan Slater, got a ticket for providing adult entertainment without a permit Monday afternoon. The fine is $500.

Slater admits he was warned, by the Clear Lake police chief, before hosting a wet T-shirt contest. Chief Greg Peterson says he told Slater the contest would be in violation of the city's adult entertainment ordinance. After looking that code over with his lawyer, Slater decided he was within his legal rights to hold the controversial contest.

Chief Peterson tells us he stopped by the Marina Saturday night  to see if slater would go ahead with the plans. Peterson says he left after the first appearance of the contestants. He points to the section in the ordinance that outlines certain body parts need to be covered. Slater argues everyone there followed that ordinance.

Slater argues the ordinance is unconstitutional.
