DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama returns to Iowa today for an evening rally in Des Moines.
It's his first trip back since winning the Iowa caucuses in January. The rally will be held in downtown, near the Capitol.
Obama's visit marks his latest effort to shift attention away from the primary season and toward the November election.
He's reaching for a symbolic tipping point in the Oregon and Kentucky primaries today -- a majority of pledged delegates offered in the Democratic race.
Rival Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to win Kentucky. Obama is favored in Oregon. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
