Cerro Gordo County, IA- Lawmakers are considering raising the gas tax next year. It's to raise money for road projects.

One lawmaker said this year's road budget isn't enough. Transportation officials project about 200 million dollars is need to fix the states highways One gas station worker said if they decide to hike the gas tax, the people should have a say.

"I would like to see the legislators respond to their constituents and do thing they would like to do," said Glenn Frederick.

The Minnesota gas tax will go up 8 1/2 cents over the next 4 years.
