WAVERLY, Iowa (AP) — The general manager of a northeast Iowa municipal utility has resigned to take a similar position in Colorado.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/14gNoFm ) Tuesday that Waverly Light and Power general manager Diane Johnson announced she had been hired as general manger of the Yampa Valley Electric Association. The electric cooperative is based in Steamboat Springs and serves part of northwest Colorado and Carbon County, Wyo.
Johnson's last day at Waverly Light and Power will be July 12. She began working at the utility in December 2007.
The utility serves more than 4,600 customers in the Waverly area.
Waverly Light and Power's board of trust asked Mike Litterer to work as interim general manager. Litterer has been working as the assistant general manager and operations manager.
