CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Family members say two therapy dogs have died in a camper fire at Coralville Lake.
The fire started around 4 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters say the fire started inside the camper but weren't sure what caused it.
The Kotz family members were returning from a trip to a mall when they found their camper in flames.
Jeffery Kotz told Cedar Rapids station KCRG (http://bit.ly/16YXavu ) that he broke camper windows in an attempt to rescue the dogs, Bear and Wolf. His mother soon showed up with the camper keys, but the Kotzes found the dogs dead inside the camper after opening the door.
