MASON CITY, IA - A non profit organization in Mason City is getting recognized for their work providing substance use and disorder treatments.
Prairie Ridge is being accredited for five of their substance use and mental health disorder programs.
To earn the title Prairie Ridge had to go through a rigorous peer review process, and on site visits.
But those with the organization say it was well worth it.
"Right here in North Iowa, they have a substance abuse treatment facility that meet the highest standards observed all over the world," said Jay Pedelty, a Prevention Specialist, with Prairie Ridge.
Prairie Ridge will be certified for three years with this top honor.
Opportunity Village in Clear Lake also has received the award.
