DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Davenport police have identified a man shot to death earlier this week.
The Quad-City Times reports (http://bit.ly/1695FDN) that the death of 30-year-old Zachary Thompson of Rock Island has been classified as a homicide.
Thompson died Tuesday morning at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.
Davenport Assistant Police Chief Don Schaeffer says the death was classified as a homicide following an autopsy conducted Wednesday in Iowa City.
Police were called to the hospital just before midnight Monday after a private vehicle took Thompson to the hospital.
Davenport detectives still are interviewing witnesses and encourage anyone with information to call police at 563-888-2094 or 563-326-6125.
