DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A central Iowa woman has died from injuries sustained in a February car crash involving a semi-trailer.
The Urbandale Police Department says 30-year-old Tara Leitzinger died Sunday at a Nebraska hospital. She had been moved to Lincoln for long-term rehabilitation and had been on life support since the Feb. 16 accident.
Leitzinger’s car hit the back of a semi-trailer as she traveled on a highway near Des Moines. The semi was driven by 46-year-old Henry Hassell II, of Deptford, N.J.
The Des Moines Register (http://dmreg.co/104xQn9 ) reports Leitzinger’s organs have been harvested.
Police say they’re still investigating the crash.
