DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to providing heroin to a woman who overdosed and died.
U.S. District Court Judge James E. Gritzner sentenced Andrew Aaron Rahn on Thursday in Davenport.
The U.S. attorney's office says Rahn admitted when he pleaded guilty that he bought $120 worth of heroin in Rock Island, Ill., on June 5, 2012.
Rahn says he and 18-year-old Tralee Duffey later shot up heroin in a Bettendorf parking lot and then returned to his home in Long Grove. Rahn passed out, and when he awoke Duffey was unresponsive.
He called her mother, who called 911.
Crews took Duffey to a hospital, where she died.
Two co-defendants have pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in September.
