KIMT NEWS 3 - An Iowa college student is making headlines for her blood alcohol content.
It was way beyond the legal limit and even put her behind bars last weekend.
And the episode has people talking about binge drinking.
It's considered having 4 to 5 drinks within just a few hours
The Iowa Department of Health even issued alerts talking about the consequences of this type of drinking.
But for some students, like Josh Somers at the University of Minnesota, they say there's too much on the line for them to take part in excessive drinking habits.
"It can kind of get out of control really quickly. I feel a lot of people use it in an abusive way most the time usually party atmosphere," said Somers.
According the CDC college women is most likely to binge drink versus the men.
Right now the state of Iowa has 23 different counties working on reducing binge drinking in their area.
