KIMT NEWS 3 - A local retired state patrol officer is receiving a prestigious award for his heroism just a year ago.
This is video of a bank robbery that turned into a car chase just one year ago.
During the incident, State Trooper Mark Domino was shot in the arm.
Domino is now retired, but come Tuesday, he will be receiving the "Sullivan Brothers Award of Valor".
The award is for peace officers and fire fighters who have shown heroism in the line of duty.
“Feel very proud very humble to get something to be attached to the Sullivan brothers and to be with the other officers and firefighters that were chosen for the award,” said Mark Domino.
Domino served as an Iowa State Patrol officer for more than 30 years.
His immediate family will be with him at the awards ceremony.
