KENSETT, Iowa- The Iowa State Patrol is trying to determine if horse play contributed to the death of a North Iowa man.

They're investigating a rollover crash on a gravel road.

We talked with Trooper Mike Haugen Monday.  He says he's still in the early investigation of this crash.  What we do know is Jordan Graham was driving west on 420th Street just east of Raven Avenue near the town of Kensett.

His older brother Jedidiah Graham died after the Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled over into a ditch.  But there are several questions still surrounding his death.

Ronda Wentworth was at work, but feared the worst when she heard about the accident just a few hundred yards away from her home.

"420th street that's my street, what big accident, and I got a little worried you know because I have a child out here and I knew everyone was at home here except for me," she said.

The SUV ended up on top of the 26-year-old Mason City man, now state troopers are trying to determine if he was inside the vehicle when it happened.

Wentworth says her 12-year-old daughter saw not one but two people riding outside of the vehicle.

"She said there were two kids up on top, and she said one was sitting like indian style and the other one was laying down," Wentworth said.

State troopers are trying to get in contact with the third person who was in riding with Jedidiah and Jordan Graham.

They think the trio may have been "car surfing."  That's where a person rides on the hood or roof of a moving car.

Witnesses say the three appeared to be out joy riding.

"The first time that they saw them go by you couldn't even tell what it was, they were traveling pretty high speeds," said Wentworth.

Police say some young kids who also live near the scene discovered the crash.  They told their parents who dialed 911.

The county medical examiner says Graham died from the weight of the vehicle.

Haugen says the third person involved in the crash isn't returning his calls.

He says they don't know about any possible charges relating to the accident at this time.

The state patrol says riding outside of the vehicle is against the law.  Iowa's seatbelt law requires drivers and their passengers to buckle up on all roadways.
