Third Person Involved in Deadly Crash

MASON CITY, IA--The Iowa State Patrol isn't releasing the name of a third person involved in a deadly crash.

About 3:30 Monday morning a pickup flipped just Southeast of Rockford in Floyd County.

The patrol is now confirming a third person was in the vehicle at the time of the mishap.

He is 19 years old and was not treated.

Investigators report that Ryan Dougherty, 19 of Dougherty was behind the wheel of a 1998 Dodge pickup that left the driveway of a home at a high rate of speed.

It went across 230th Street, went into a ditch and rolled.

Brianne Pals, 20 of Belmond died at the scene.

Dougherty was treated at a Mason City hospital and released.

It could take up to a month for the patrol to complete its investigation.
