MASON CITY, IA - A Mason City family is out of their home Monday morning after a fire.
Firefighters were called to North Quincy Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Fire Marshall Mark Christensen says a wood burning fireplace started a trailer home on fire.
One woman, Kristy Troge, was home at the time. She tried to get the fire out herself but was unsuccessful. Her daughter and fiancé were not home at the time of the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross is assisting the family while they find a new place to live.
