HANLONTOWN, IA--
One local town is excited about its shiny new fire truck. The Hanlontown Fire Department recently added a truck to their fleet. They're having a fundraiser Saturday evening to help offset the cost of the new truck. The fire chief tells us they usually do a benefit every year, Saturday’s is a pancake supper and runs from 5 until 7. Anyone is welcome to attend.
He says they're excited about incorporating the new truck into the areas they protect.“This truck particular just adds to the other apparatus that we have and just furthers our protection of the community and to the surrounding towns for mutual aid,” said Chief Peter Brattrud.
Brattrud says the truck cost about $165,000 to purchase. He says it will be used for both firefighting and rescue situations.
