Mason City, IA- A North Iowa woman is still in the hospital after a crash involving farm equipment.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a pickup didn't see Alice Heiltland in his blind spot while changing lanes on the Avenue of the Saints.

The truck was towing a piece of farm equipment.

The Iowa State Patrol says both drivers and farmers need to use extra caution this time of year.

"When you're passing vehicles make sure you're doing so safely properly you do so in a safe area in a proper passing zone and you look out further beyond where you have to pass," said Iowa State Patrol District 8 commander Rick Pierce.

Workers at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa were still evaluating Heiltland at around 4:00pm on Thursday.

Deputies are investigating the crash.

The Clear Lake Fire Department and Mason City Paramedic responded to the wreck.
