Lake Mills, IA- The Lake Mills School Board is deciding whether to fire a teacher and girls basketball coach.
The board held a hearing today to consider a recommendation from the school's superintendent to terminate Mark Van Gorkom.
The school suspended the teacher and coach after his players complained about inappropriate text messages.
Board members met for five hours to consider evidence in the case.
Police have not filed any criminal charges.
After his suspension, Van Gorkom released a statement saying he believes the texts were taken out of context.
The board will make a decision at a meeting at six thirty on Tuesday night.
