Columbus, OH - If you suffer from migraine headaches, you now have a new way to fight them.
This month a new drug is expected to land in pharmacies that combines two different drugs that have been used in the past.
The new medication is called Treximet.
Doctors at Ohio State University Medical Center are helping study the drug that researchers claim provides relief without addiction.
It combines two medications to control two different aspects of migraines.
First, it keeps blood vessels in the head from narrowing, but it also blocks the brain from releasing chemicals that signal pain.
Doctors say it could be an important new option for the millions who can't seem to find relief.
Even though Treximet has won FDA approval, studies continue.
