Allentown, PA - Imagine spending less time at the gym, but getting more out of it.
Some good vibrations could improve your workout.
A new piece of equipment is shaking things up at this gym.
The "Power Plate" uses whole body vibration to give you more of a workout in a lot less time.
The idea is that the up and down movement of the platform forces your body to constantly, steady itself, causing your muscles to tense and relax up to 50 times per second.
It's kind of a sneaky way to increase the amount of exercise they're getting.
"It doesn't take as long which is nice, but you work up a sweat doing it," said Power Plate user, Lisa Williams.
Studies suggest vibration therapy improves blood flow and increases bone density, and it could help you shed a few pounds in the process.
