Erin Therese Weekend Anchor/Reporter Hello North Iowa, Southern Minnesota, and beyond! I joined the KIMT News 3 team in December 2006. I was born in Minneapolis but grew up in Decorah, Iowa – a fitting addition to the station that is bringing Minnesota and Iowa together. In high school I loved to watch Channel One, and that’s where my dream of being a journalist began. I remember telling classmates to be quiet because I couldn’t hear the news. I graduated from University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls with a degree in Electronic Media. I loved being a panther and was very active on campus, especially in my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, where I held many offices, including president. Beyond studies and Greek life, I spent time volunteering for a number of organizations and was part of the Panther News Network where I was able to report, anchor, produce, and direct UNI’s campus news. In the summer of 2006, I left the Midwest to do an internship with Entertainment Tonight in Los Angeles, California. Mark Steines is the co-host of ET and a UNI grad. I was handpicked by Mark for an intense, multifaceted internship where I did everything from creating a documentary to working the red carpet as a producer. When I am not working on stories for KIMT News 3, you’ll probably find my striking up conversations with the people I meet in my everyday life. As any of my friends and family will tell you, I am a talker and believe everyone has a story that is just waiting to be told. In my free time I love to do things that others think are impossible, like climbing a mountain, hiking the Grand Canyon and running a marathon. I love animals and might someday become that loveable...but crazy pet lady. Right now I have two dogs, Nova and Maizy, as well as two lazy cats, Itty Kitty and Thomas. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, swimming, reading, and especially laughing. If you’re ready to tell your story, send me an email! Email Erin |
