 Cole Mathisen
Reporter
Cole Mathisen joined the KIMT News 3 team in May of 2007. He graduated from St. Cloud State University majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in sports science. During his time in St. Cloud he worked at the university TV station, UTVS, and college radio station KVSC. For UTVS he worked as a news anchor, reporter, producer, and cameraman, including work on the Academy of College Television Arts and Sciences-College Emmy award winning newscast. At KVSC he served as the Production Director and sports broadcaster.
Cole has always been passionate about sports. In High School he played varsity football and hockey. In college he worked as the studio analyst and feature reporter for St. Cloud State Husky hockey games. He also anchored and produced a weekly magazine show that followed St. Cloud State athletics. He has always been a Minnesota sports fan, the Vikings, Twins, Wild, and Timberwolves are his favorite teams.
Cole grew up in the small town of Delano Minnesota, just 30 miles west of Minneapolis. He enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. His favorite part about reporting is getting to learn something new everyday, meeting new people, and telling their stories with pictures. His mission in life is to always tell stories with accuracy and fairness, while keeping his integrity intact.
