Jim Politis
Assistant Chief Meteorologist

Jim joined the KIMT Three Storm Team in October 2007. Born in Danvers, Massachusetts, Jim graduated from Lyndon State College in May 2007 with a B.S. in Broadcast Meteorology, A.S. in Computer Science, and a minor in Mathematics.

While in college, Jim worked temporarily as a weekend meteorologist at WCAX-TV in Burlington, VT. During the week, Jim performed broadcasts on the live college news channel where he forecasted for Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Jim has a strong involvement with the American Meteorological Society and serves on the Local Chapter Affairs Committee.

Outside of KIMT, Jim enjoys playing the viola, waterskiing, and playing a variety of sports from racquetball to water polo. In his spare time, Jim cheers on the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.

Jim is excited about forecasting for the wide range of weather situations in Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa and being active in the community.
