If you've ever wished for a cleaning 'genie', an automatic cleaner may be your answer. Automatic pool cleaners come in a variety of models. Some function whenever the pump cycles for easy convenience. Others may have a reversing feature to prevent the cleaner from getting stuck. Regardless of the options, the cleaners all function in a similar manner. They use either the pressure exhaust water from a pump or the suction intake pressure to power their way across the pool bottom. As tractor treads move the cleaner around the pool to vacuum up leaves and other debris, the hoses following the cleaner are circulating the smaller particles into the water to be removed by the filtration system. Although automatic cleaners have made cleaning pools easier, the cleaners themselves must also be maintained. Be sure to clean the collection bag and check the flow of water through the hoses. Additional information and advice on whether an automatic cleaner is right for your pool can be obtained from your local pool distributor.
